Vintage Boo-tique

The mad rush is on to put everything in perfect place for our Vintage Bootique this Saturday. I was going to preview some of our Halloween merchandise but.....I'm still thinking about it. Especially since product is crammed into cupboards, on shelves, in my garage.....not the best for great photo ops if you know what I mean...

I've got the cider and hard cider and am making the grocery list for pumpkin tarts etc. Still so much to get together. Ahhh, my life!! Plus Art in the Park is this weekend....competition!! Not to worry. We had a good turn out last year despite lots of other distractions!

So instead of giving away secrets....I just took some fun shots and everyone can stop in and see what happening at good goods.

Oh, all right.....just a couple hints................

He caught you looking at him, didn't he???

Hmmmm.........

And now for a peek at Halloween which won't be out until the 11th of the month at our Vintage BOOtique. Stop in that Saturday and see for yourself . I imagine it will go fast with all the "anticipation" we've been hearing! gulp--I hope I bought enough!!!

Someone's keepin' their eye on you.............
Stop in and say "hi" when you're in the neighborhood. Until then-

My secret garden........

So! I had this great idea for the most amazing blog. I would show you the transformation of my yards "ugly corner" into a cool, refreshing hideaway. Not only would it be fantastic but it would be done with all recycled materials. Minimal cost. Just imagination, several whipped together artsy creations and some work. Not even back breaking work.
Then summer arrived. And it got hot. I don't work in the yard when it gets hot. I forgot that part. So my ugly corner still looks like this:

However, from what I am understanding -- we are supposed to be getting some temperatures in the 80's and now I can get to it. I have an old metal trellis which I am going to smother with broken limbs, branches and vines. I also have found my old brick to lay the patio (after I dig out that grass). My hostas need dividing in the front yard--free plants!!! I'm just certain it will look something like this any day now!!

Hmmm, gotta find that old bench..............

And some deer friends.............

Why is this heading on here???
This is my inspiration photo for my brick design. I bet mine ends up looking even better than this..................

oh. A bridge is nice, isn't it?? I'll just have to extend into the neighbors. They like me. A lot! I'm sure that will be no problem........
So wish me luck and I'll be sure to post "after" pictures.
(Maybe after next summer.....)
ALSO!!
Voting for Best of Boise is still ongoing at the Boise Weekly. I'm asking everyone that enjoys good goods to head over there and vote for us in the "Best Gift Shop" category.
As these things are often decided by only a few votes-your votes means a lot!!

Best of Boise

Voting started recently for the Boise Weekly's annual Best of Boise issue. So, of course, here am I encouraging everyone to go vote and hopefully vote for good goods & co as "Best Gift Shop"!
(yes!! they have finally put in a category where I don't have to compete against the Co-op and Record Exchange who nudged me into third place a few years back!!!)

I admit it looks intimidating (since you have to register) but it's really quite simple and fun. Makes me aware of all the different areas of shopping, dining, cultural and outdoor activities we have to enjoy in this great town.

When it comes to something like this, I have no shame. No pride. A small, independent store like mine can't buy advertising this effective and a small independent store like mine needs it!!!!

Pop on over to the Boise Weekly, look for the Best of Boise logo from the top of this post and vote!!

If good goods wins this year, we'll be havin' a party-I guarantee!!!
Thanks from the campaign trail,
Cheri
