The state of retail today........

On my left sidebar is a list of some of my favorite blogs. One of them is Curious Sofa, an out of this world store in Kansas City owned by uber talented Debbie Dusenberry. Her recent post "Hurtful" made me stand up and cheer. This woman not only has vision and heart but balls!! And I say that in the most complimentary way imaginable! See what I mean.

HA!! Summer is finally here!!!

For someone that dreads the intense heat we get here at times, I am finally glad to feel some WARMTH when I step outside!! However, it's still "cool inside" at the shop and it's looking pretty cool, too.

Been fluffing and getting ready for our Fourth Anniversary Celebration coming up here this weekend~June 25 & 26. This year we're closing on Friday to get things set up for an adult party with some delicious food such as:

And some of these:

See Kasey's blog

and this.....

And more but, a girl needs a few surprises, doesn't she??? And how about some sights around good goods:

Making it through these tough times hasn't been easy. Any success we have we owe to our customers that support us, tell their friends about us, share their stories and smiles. Most times you buy but sometimes you say you just need "therapy" or an "escape" and that is a wonderful thing to hear. What a compliment!
Hope to see lots of you this weekend!! Oh yea, everything is on sale for at least 20% off....(small detail!!)

Getting ready for summer

Although it certainly doesn't feel like it yet, summer is on it's way. If it wasn't a hot one this year, you wouldn't hear me complaining. Not. A. Bit!

We're still prepared for the season, though, with lots more on the way. The summer holidays, plus Father's Day, weddings, birthdays and gasp!! we can't forget your yard that you'll be spending lots of time looking at the next few months!!!

A taste of the Fourth of July for you this time. More to follow in the next several days!!
Be good,

Dream Houses!

Like everyone, I dream of getting away from "civilization" and living this charmed, simple life. Of course, this would also involve becoming a trust fund baby or something of the sort... but I do save inspiration photos and thought, on this rainy day, I'd share some with all of you!!

I believe this truly hobbit home is in Wales and was built by folks with no construction skills, simple tools and daring!! You can click on the first picture for more information on this one.

Now this next one really was constructed for someone (with more money than any one person should be allowed to have) to house his "extensive Tolkien collection".

This one I found on a blog that I have long since forgotten. I do think I remember that this one is somewhere in Oregon!!

Now we get into charming, ?English? looking homes that were just "cozy up in" kind of places.

Add an adult size tree house in back and I could be set!

You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one!!!!
